I am the founder of the Lake Success Environmental Group. I am a graduate from Great Neck South High School, where the great environmental science teachers taught us the importance of protecting our community. With the passion and knowledge about environmental science. I want to gather people with similar interests and make changes in our community where we all call home. Our common goal is to apply our sense of environmental protection with enthusiasm and bring our community a cleaner and safer future.
My name is Rita Liu, the president. I am a senior from Great Neck South High School. While I enjoy the beauty of natures that are surrounding us, I witness the harms that human beings bring. With the rise of pollution levels and depletion of the ozone layer, people become more and more concerned about the environment. There is a way in which every person cares for the environment, and my way is to join this environmental organization. I am glad to be part of this group, where I am able to work with people who have the same desire and ambition as I do.
My name is Zoe Zhang, the Vice President. . I am a junior at Great Neck South High School. Since I was little, I understood that our environment is what houses and helps our ecosystems grow and thrive. Little things that we do each day may seem to be nothing, but it does make a difference.

My name is Sarah Hao, the Secretary of the organization. I am a junior at Great Neck South High School. Our school offers a plethora of science courses, one of them being AP Environmental Science. After taking this class, I began to comprehend what was once a surreal and distant concept: the widespread and relevant impact of anthropogenic activities on the environment. Since then, I’ve joined this group with an active effort to alleviate environmental concerns within my local community. Not only is this organization a very effective outlet for tackling realistic and crucial environmental problems, but a chance to further engage and bond with my community through our shared passion for saving the environment.
My name is Lindy, the Treasurer of this group. I am a junior at Great Neck South High School. Ever since I joined the Environmental organization at my old school in North Carolina, I have accumulated greater knowledge, but also greater concern about the natural world around us. Previously an active member and secretary of that club, I didn’t want my efforts to stop along with my move to Great Neck, so I joined this Environmental organization. I believe that it is the small accumulations that add up to the pollution we have today, and it is the same small steps that we can, and must take, that will add up towards a cleaner environment.
Hello, my name is Jiayue Li or Rachel. I am a junior in Great Neck South High. I used to live in a big city and I was able to see the damage left to the environment. Trees that were as skinny as sticks and weeds overgrowing from sidewalks. When I moved to Great Neck, I was able to see an environment much better than the cities but still in need of some help. The biggest problem so far in Great Neck is chemical pollution from fertilizer and littering near the beaches. I wish to brighten up the environment in Great Neck and bring about even a little bit of change.
